I used to.

This is a homemade poem I made my own talking about who one person used to love someone but it finished in a tragic way.

I used to adore you,
I used to feel tickles in my stomach.
I used to adore you,
You were like air to me.

I used to love you,
Everyday I watch your picture.
I used to love you,
but now you are dead.

Isn't it ironic?

We are studying the different types of ironies, and here's the analysis of the song "Ironic", by Analis Morissette.

Verbal ironies: Well, isn't this nice

Situational ironies: An old man turned ninety-eight he won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
It's like rain on your wedding day It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly he packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye he waited his whole damn life to take that flight and as the plane crashed down
A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife

I think that the most ironic of all of them is "an old man turned ninety-eight he won the lottery and died the next day" because there are very few possibilities for winning a lottery and this man dies the next day of this unusual event.

In my point of view the writing is showing anger by these "exaggerated" situations, and also is trying to show how bad luck and good luck are combined.

Essay 'Kill to eat'

In the story "Kill to eat", I could analyse in different aspects the coming of age. As the brothers grow up, their rights were different, and also is taking into account the position of the eldest brother. He was the most respected, and for example when he decided to kill the kookaburra no one of the youngest brothers told him not to do it. "We always let him start shooting" is a quote that clearly shows the right of the eldest brother. As aborigins grow up, they have more responsibilities than before. As the father or older brother, their responsibility was to give the youngest brothers the model that they should follow. Doing the right thing is one of their jobs. Another example is that if they were responsible enough they would make their own weapon. And also, taking the blame of their acts was part of this responsibility that they should take. As the brothers grew up, they has different rights and responsibilities and also it influenced who the eldest brother was because he was the model.

"How does it make you feel"

In this task, I will talk about the video "How does it make you feel", by Air. At the very beginning I could not understand the relationship between the images that the video showed with the lyrics of the song but after seeing it more than once I finally could find it. In my point of view, the images of the people, the animals and the objects show different feelings, like lightbulbs breaking or the girl separating into parts. The connection between these images, the lyrics and the music is that the three of them express how the boy is missing this girl and she is not complete without him. My reaction during the video was very confussed because I could not find the relationship, but then I thought that the different things that showed were feelings transformed into situations, like smoke, melted liquid or lights on. To sum up, in this video I could interpretate different kind of feelings by situations of objects.

Descriptive composition "Secrets"

In the story “Secrets”, the boy is Mary´s nephew. His role in the story is to be the boy who read the prohibited letters of his aunt.
He is a little bit naughty and a gossiper. This boy is naughty because he likes to be involved in everything, and likes adventurous things. That is why he was so interested in aunt Mary´s letters. He is a gossip because he needed to read the prohibited letters from his aunt; although he feels guilty at last when his aunt slapped him on his face and he started thinking what he did was not good.
His attitude towards himself is that he feels guilty and that is because he did a bad action to his aunt Mary and there is no way to turn it back because Mary is no longer alive.
Mary felt devastated by him because she trusted him, she thought that he was trustworthy but he proved to be the opposite thing.

I think that the best animal to compare the boy is a rat, because he is bold and dirty. Bold because he did what he wanted, not what he was asked and dirty means the guilt that he had inside. “When he felt a hardness in his throat he put his head down on his books. Tears came into his eyes for the first time since she had died and he cried silently into the crook of his arm for the woman who had been his maiden aunt.”
